The Top-Co team is populated with professionals possessing years of downhole engineering, manufacturing and service experience in this specialized niche industry. Alfredo Sanchez, Senior Petroleum Engineer, has more than 10 years experience in technical sales, oilfield operations, and asset management in manufacturing plants. Applying his Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering Alfredo operates Top-Co flow loop test facility, ensuring API compliance on established and new products. Publishing 3 papers with the Society of Petroleum Engineers, Alfredo incorporates his passion for the industry to researching and developing Top-Co’s expanded product line. Ron Drury, Director of Technical Services, previously employed by Weatherford’s cementation manufacturing division for 28 years, is Top- Co’s first responder on customer technical queries. Product support and technical resources are available 24-7 for customer guidance and troubleshooting.

B. 7 Research and Development

Top-Co’s responsive research and development team offer expertise in efficiently customizing and testing tools for unique cementing applications, often in response to operating problems encountered by customers. The engineering team has developed and tested torque and drag solutions for horizontal, directional and extended reach wells. Sophisticated software is available in real time to design optimum centralization for all well profiles. Design engineers employ electronic design media and 3D modeling to facilitate precise and expeditious designs. Systematic in-house dynamic testing and operational simulations validates performance of all new, standard or modified products prior to field introduction. New product developments include the Type 650 Hydraulic Mechanical Stage Cementing Collar dynamically tested on dynamic leading edge testing facilities.Top-co

STAGE CEMENTING EQUIPMENT

Top-Co’s stage cementing tools ensure success in multiple stage cementing applications, precisely positioning the cement slurry during stage cementing operations. Top-Co’s Type 600 Series stage cementing equipment is designed for use in the following applications: -Horizontal wellbores where the bend radius requires cementing -If different blends of cement require safe pumping into the wellbore -Where there may be a breakdown of low pressure formations

FLOAT EQUIPMENT

Primary cementing is the process of displacing drilling fluid and placement of cement slurry to form a continuous and competent cement sheath within the wellbore annulus, while maintaining well control and preventing fluid migration between permeable zones. Float equipment contains or acts as a check valve preventing backflow of cement into the casing. Once casing is in place the separation of two hydrostatic columns of fluid and maintenance of differential pressure is achieved using float equipment while sustaining the goal of preventing backflow. Float equipment production processes include: • Material processing, machining, valve production, cementing, quality control testing and inspections are performed by Top-Co technicians. • Utilizing seamless casing grade steel produced by API licensed mills. • Machining processed in-house on computer numerically controlled (CNC) equipment. • API registered master thread gauges and working gauges are used for inspection of all API connections • Top-Co float valves are tested and rated in compliance with API Recommended Practice 10F.

CENTRALIZERS AND CASING ACCESSORIES

Top-Co’s primary cementing tools and casing accessories are essential components of a successful casing running and cementing program. Casing accessories assist the operator in successfully placing and supporting the casing string in the wellbore, enhancing mud removal and providing zone isolation. Proper selection of primary cementing accessories reduces the need for secondary cementing, ensuring tubulars get to target depth, achieve optimum circulation and reducing risk of differential sticking.

CEMENTING PLUGS

Cementing plugs are utilized to cement casing in a wellbore while wiping casing surfaces clean of drilling mud, spacers and cement. Cementing plugs also prevent over displacement of the cement slurry and indicate when the cementing job is complete and a positive seal has been achieved.

INNER STRING CEMENTING EQUIPMENT

Utilizing inner string float equipment allows for large diameter casing strings to be cemented through the drillpipe or tubing and stung into and/or sealed into the float shoe or collar. Top-Co offers inner string cementing equipment available with or without a latch-in feature on the stinger.

CEMENTING HEADS

Top-Co offers an integral cementing head to attach to the top of the casing to facilitate cementing of the casing. The cement head has passages for cement slurry and retain chambers for cementing wiper plugs. The Top-Co Type 214 Cement Head features single or double plug head designs, easy to attach landing joints and reliable plug pin performance. Performing with consistency and reliability in the field, Top-Co’s cement head is available with a number of options, including API, premium or blank thread connections and rapid connection options to meet specific circulation requirements.

FLOW LOOP TEST FACILITY

A proprietary purpose designed flow loop test facility is one of the unique quality assurance pillars at Top-Co. This facility is utilized to dynamically test float equipment, stage cementing tools, cementing plugs, etc: new; re-designed; and tool incident analysis. Testing closely simulates actual well conditions including usage of drilling mud and other variables to ensure compliance with API Recommended Practice 10F testing procedures, including test category IIIC. All tool test data is electronically captured and graphed for client usage.
The facility’s flexibility and capabilities allow the execution of all areas of Top- Co’s testing program:

• Research & development
• Existing product improvement
• Quality control
• Process verification
• Failure analysis
• Third party testing
• Customer and personnel training
• Technical customer support
